I set up Trash 2 as an insert on my Microtonic MIDI track in Ableton Live 9.
In this particular tutorial, I'd like to show you how to set up Sidechaining in Trash 2.įor this tutorial, I'll actually be using a drum loop, courtesy of Microtonic. The compression, in turn, makes the signals that you run through Trash 2, hard hitting and tight. Trash 2, in addition to being completely gnarly with distortion also has a very nice Dynamics section that includes not only a really nice compressor, but also, and if you like, a really comprehensive multi-band compressor. But, besides being a distortion unit from hell, it's also got a few more tricks up its sleeves. It's an incredible spice to add to drum beats, guitar riffs and definitely big, bad, nasty synths.
